Manchester United’s midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has sustained a meniscal injury, rendering him unavailable for the remainder of the season, as announced by the Premier League club on Monday.
In an official statement, the club expressed their disappointment at losing Sabitzer’s services during a crucial period when the Reds are striving for a strong finish in both the Premier League and the FA Cup.
They also conveyed their gratitude for his contributions that have played a significant role in their progress thus far.
The Club’s statement:
“We regret to announce that Marcel Sabitzer, our midfielder, has sustained a meniscal injury that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season”.
“As a club, we are deeply disappointed to lose Marcel’s services during this crucial phase, as we aim for a strong finish in both the Premier League and FA Cup. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for his valuable contributions to our progress thus far”.
The Austrian international who arrived at United on loan from Bayern Munich in January, last appeared in the team’s defeat against West Ham, where he came off the bench.
Subsequently, due to knee troubles, he was absent from the squad in their 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The midfielder proved instrumental in the team’s midfield when Christian Eriksen was sidelined due to injury scoring 3 goals in 17 games.
