After spending five months with Olympiakos in Greece, Brazilian left-back Marcelo has terminated his contract with the club.
The initial contract was for a year with the possibility of a further year. Marcelo played in 10 matches and scored three goals across various competitions during his time with the club.
On social media, Marcelo expressed his appreciation for the unforgettable moments he experienced in Greece and for the support of the people of Piraeus.
He stated that he would return to the country again and was grateful for the opportunity to wear the Olympiakos jersey, and for the experience and friendships he made during his brief stay.
Prior to his stint with Olympiakos, Marcelo left Real Madrid as the club’s most decorated player, having won 25 trophies during his 15 years with the team. The Greek Super League side also shared their gratitude towards Marcelo and acknowledged the everlasting bonds he created with the club despite his brief stay.
