In the Premier League match against Southampton, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have equaled the record set by former Manchester United pair Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
Martinelli scored a goal, assisted by Saka, to reduce Arsenal’s deficit to one.
With this goal and assist, Saka and Martinelli have become the second pair aged 21 or under to achieve 20+ goal involvements each in a season, following in the footsteps of Ronaldo and Rooney.
Arsenal’s fans will be relying on Saka and Martinelli, who have shown great form throughout the season to perform well in the remaining games of the season as the club look to win it’s first Premier League title in 19 years.
The next match for Arsenal is against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League, which could be a crucial tie in determining who will win the title.
