Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly on the brink of being announced as the new manager of Chelsea. The Telegraph has reported that negotiations between the two parties have been positive, and a swift agreement is hoped for.
Pochettino is said to be already preparing for his new role, lining up his backroom team which includes Jesus Perez as assistant manager and head of conditioning, Miguel D’Agostino as first-team coach, Toni Jimenez as goalkeeping coach, and Sebastiano Jimenez as a sports scientist.
Despite initial concerns from Chelsea due to Pochettino’s previous managerial role with Tottenham and his emotional attachment to the club, these concerns have reportedly been quashed by the positive reaction from Chelsea’s fanbase and key figures within the dressing room.
Multiple players are said to be excited to work with Pochettino given his style of play and his track record in improving players.
