Afrobeat Superstar, Davido and 337 other notable Nigerian citizens have been announced as recipients of the 2023 National Awards.
This announcement was made by the Ministry of special duties and intergovernmental affairs on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Davido was awarded the Officer of the Order of Niger, (OON).
Renowned filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan was also awarded the OON for his works in the filmmaking industry.
All 2023 national award winners have been invited to submit a soft copy of their citation or résumé to the government by May 31.
The honorees are also expected to be physically present for the collection of their medals and certificates on June 1, 2023.
Other Notable Nigerians like Footballer, Victor Osimhen were awarded an MFR, (Member of the Order of the federal republic)
In 2011 Nollywood superstars like Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade, and Osita Iheme were conferred with an MFR for their contributions to the entertainment industry.
