A Nigerian podcaster on TikTok with the user name, Tee P has sparked multiple reactions online with his views on popular Afrobeat superstars Davido and Wizkid.
He gave reasons on why he thinks Davido is better than Wizkid using their recent album’s performance on charts.
In a viral TikTok video, Tee P compared the success of Davido’s album “Timeless,” which was released on March 30, 2023, with Wizkid’s album “More Love Less Ego,” released on November 11, 2022.
Tee P expressed his opinion that Wizkid is lazy and overly confident because of his fanbase called “Wizkid FC.” He claimed that Wizkid no longer takes his time before releasing songs and drops whatever he likes, relying on his fans to hype it up on social media. Tee P believes this is disrespectful to Wizkid’s fans, who may not realize it.
On why he thinks Davido is better, Tee P praised Davido as a hardworking artist who believes in collaborating with talented individuals to create something magical. He mentioned that Davido had multiple songwriters contribute to his album “Timeless,” which is why the album is still doing well on the charts, unlike Wizkid’s album.
Tee P went on to advise Wizkid to hire more songwriters for his next project. He believes that Wizkid cannot stand out on his own and should tap into the creativity of young writers in the industry today.
He said: “The difference between Wizkid’s more love less Ego album is team and hard work, Wizkid believes that he is machala, he is star boy, he’s number one. Whatever he drops people will feel it anyway and I call that a disrespect to his fans but they don’t know, the fans will never know this because he’s no longer working hard anymore. He just comes and just does anything he wants because he believes that his Wizkid Fc will accept it anyhow.
“Davido on the other hand is a very hardworking artist, So he believes with the people around him, he can create something magical So Davido got lots song writers on the Timeless Album and that is why the album still on the chart till today. Asake removed Wizkid from the chart, the album did not even last up to 2 weeks on the chart. It disappeared, Davido’s album stayed on the chart because he believes in team work.
