Arsenal‘s exuberant celebrations following Reiss Nelson’s dramatic stoppage-time winner against Bournemouth are being investigated by the Football Association (FA).
In the match, Arsenal trailed 2-0 with 28 minutes to play but came back to win and move five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The celebrations following Nelson’s goal were chaotic, with members of the Arsenal coaching staff and substitutes joining in on the pitch.
Referee Chris Kavanagh included the incident in his post-match report, prompting the FA to look into the matter as a matter of course. Arsenal has not yet received any communication from the FA about a potential charge or request for observations.
However, FA rules dictate that players and staff should behave responsibly on the touchline and not go onto the pitch without a valid reason, such as a club physio treating an injured player.
