Former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain coach, Thomas Tuchel, has been appointed as the new boss of Bayern Munich following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann.
The reigning German champions announced that Nagelsmann and FC Bayern had parted ways and that Tuchel would be succeeding him.
Nagelsmann, who led Bayern to the quarter-finals of the Champions League where they will face Manchester City next month, was replaced by Tuchel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021.
Oliver Kahn, Bayern chairman, thanked Nagelsmann and his coaching team and wished them luck for the future. Tuchel, who was previously considered by Bayern but lost out to other top-flight European clubs, has been without a job since his dismissal from Chelsea in September.
His first match as Bayern’s new boss will be on April 1 against Dortmund, the club he led from 2015-2017 before leaving for PSG.
