Us born Afrobeat singer, Davido have showered praises on fellow afro beat singer, Rema in a new interview with Kiss hype chart.
He said he is proud of the dumebi singer for having the highest charting song by African artist.
Speaking on the first time he met Rema, Davido stated that rema growth in the industry is like a miracle, he recalled when the young singer paid him a visit in the company of D’Prince some years back and how reserved he was.
When asked if he is proud of the afro beat movement, He said the afrobeat industry has evolved and the sound is now widely accepted. In his words

I saw Rema in New York two days ago and I hugged him and I was like “I’m so proud of you” because I remember him coming to my house with D’Prince back then, and he was chilling quietly in my living room, he didn’t say a word not knowing that he would have the highest charting song by African artist today. “And you know that’s crazy, just a kid from Benin and see that happen, it makes you like believe in miracles. The avenue for people to escape is music. These are the things that the government should be doing because Nigeria has entertainment, Africa has entertainment as well that can help us graduate and escape a lot of it.”
