Dele Alli is set to make a return to England after falling out of favour with his current loan club, Besiktas, in the Turkish Super Lig.
Despite being plagued by an injury sustained while playing for Besiktas, the midfielder is due to be reviewed by Everton’s medical staff upon his return to the UK. However, he will not be able to play for his parent club this season, according to Sky Sports.
Alli has only featured for 713 minutes across 13 matches this season and Besiktas had attempted to terminate his loan deal during the January transfer window. Unfortunately, the lack of a break clause in his contract prevented this from happening.
In addition, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes had accused Alli of going AWOL after missing a training session, but Alli claimed that he had written proof of the club’s authorisation for his absence. As a result, the Turkish club has opted against activating the £8 million buy clause in Alli’s contract.
