Barcelona’s star players Frenkie de Jong, Ousmane Dembele, and Pedri have resumed training as the Blaugrana approach their first league title in three years.
The trio has faced extended periods of absence due to injuries, with Dembele getting injured in January, Pedri in February, and De Jong just before last month’s international break. Although all three are back on the training ground, no official return date has been announced.
However, according to AS, both De Jong and Pedri may feature in the upcoming match against third-placed Atletico Madrid this weekend. On the other hand, Dembele may require more time to settle back into the squad.
Their return is timely as Barcelona has been winless in their last three fixtures and have failed to score a goal in nearly 400 minutes in all competitions.
Additionally, the absence of deputy midfielder Sergi Roberto for up to six weeks increases the team’s need for reinforcements.
Pedri and De Jong seem to be on track for their club’s fixture on Saturday, while Dembele may need an extra week to reintegrate into the squad.
