Manchester United came from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory over Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The visitors’ defeat was largely a result of their own mistakes, as they conceded a penalty and had two players, Willian, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, as well as their coach Marco Silva, sent off in quick succession.
Until that point, Erik ten Hag’s team had struggled, falling behind to a Mitrovic goal early in the second half. However, Willian’s handball and Mitrovic’s reckless shove on the referee swung the momentum in United’s favor.
The all-important penalty was converted by Bruno Fernandes two minutes before Marcel Sabitzer scored a second goal. Fernandes then sealed the victory with a third goal in the late stages of the game.
United will now face Brighton at Wembley, while the other Semi-final will see Manchester City play Sheffield United at the same stadium.
