Paris St-Germain extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 by six points after securing a win at Nice through goals from Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
Despite being jeered by his own fans in the previous match, Messi opened the scoring with a clinical first-time finish from Nuno Mendes’ low cross into the box. Ramos sealed the victory by heading in a corner delivered by Messi.
PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma played a crucial role in the win, making impressive saves to deny Hicham Boudaoui and Nicolas Pepe in the first half.
Nice came close to scoring when Dante’s shot hit the bar and post before bouncing out, and Youssouf Ndayishimiye’s effort from the edge of the area was parried away by Donnarumma.
The win moves PSG six points clear over second placed Lens on top of the table with eight games left to play.
