Popular Nigerian actress and businesswoman, Caroline Danjuma has revealed why she continues to use her ex-husband’s surname even after their divorce.
She shared this during a recent interview with TV presenter and actor Innih Emma.
According to Caroline, she believes there is nothing wrong with keeping her ex-husband’s name, Musa Danjuma, even though they are no longer married.
They were together for nine years, and she considers him to be the love of her life, regardless of whether people agree or not.
This sentiment is strengthened by the fact that they have three children together.
Caroline emphasized that divorce is merely a legal document and doesn’t change her feelings towards Danjuma, even though they are no longer living together as husband and wife.
She openly admitted that she still loves him and would be open to reuniting with him, regardless of what others may think..
She said “ I still bear Danjuma, I have three kids for my husband. He will be my husband wether people like it or not. I will always carry that name, Danjuma. I can still carry my name, Hutchings because when I came back into social media for a while to concentrate on oil and gas business, my Msc and my MBA.
“So when I came back to social media, I got tired of how they were tired of dragging my husband’s name back and forth and I said. You know what? I want to rebrand. On social media, I am Caroline Hutchings as a brand but in real life, I’m actually Danjuma. I still bear Danjuma, my husband doesn’t have a problem with that.”
Speaking on her divorce with Musa Danjuma in 2016,
She said: ” It is final but Divorce is just a paper. Do we still like each other? Yes we do. Do we still respect each other, yes we do? He’s the love of my life and nothing is going to change that. “she said
