In his post-game press conference, Liverpool’s Manager Jurgen Klopp launched a shocking attack on Paul Tierney that put him at risk of FA reprimand.
In a crazy game on Sunday at Anfield, Liverpool came out on top, defeating Tottenham 4-3 with a last-second goal after giving up a three-goal lead.
After avoiding a red card, Diogo Jota emerged as the winner when he pounced on a poor backpass to stun Spurs.
After 15 minutes, the Reds had already jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah, giving the north London club yet another miserable weekend.
Heung-min Son made it 3-2 late in the game, but Harry Kane scored before halftime, and Richarlison scored in stoppage time for his first Premier League goal for Spurs.
And while the away supporters continued to rejoice, Jota scored the game-winning goal in unusual circumstances, making Klopp angry with the refereeing throughout.
The Liverpool manager launched into an astounding attack on referee Tierney, asking how a foul could have been called on Mohamed Salah prior to Spurs’ third goal.
“We have a history with [Paul] Tierney, and while he has said there are no issues between us, that can’t possibly be the case”.
“I don’t know why he looks at me the way he does. Since these situations are so complex and difficult to comprehend, nobody in England is required to explain them”.
“My celebration was unnecessary, which is fair, but what he said to me when he issued the yellow card is not acceptable,” Klopp stated.
As off this moment, Klopp is said to be under investigation and if found guilty, he might be punished by the FA.
