Juventus and Italy captain, Leonardo Bonucci, has announced his Decision to retire from football at the close of the 2023/2024 season.
The 36-year-old defender has enjoyed two stints at Juventus, during which he has secured eight Serie A titles, and recently marked his 500th appearance for the club against Sevilla.
Bonucci has also earned 120 international caps and played a pivotal role in Italy’s victory over England in the Euro 2020 final.
In an interview with Juventus’ YouTube channel, Bonucci expressed his deep connection to the club, stating that wearing the Juventus shirt has been like living a dream for the past 12 years.
His contract with the club will expire at the end of next season.
Bonucci began his professional career at Inter Milan in 2005, where he won his first Serie A title in the 2005-2006 season.
