Premier League club, Leicester City have parted ways with their Manager Brendan Rogers.
Rogers was fired as manager of Leicester City after his team’s fifth loss in six Premier League games.
With Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace, the Foxes were forced into the relegation zone.
Rodgers was hired in February 2019 and guided the team to its first FA Cup victory the following year.
However, in a statement, chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha claimed that this season’s performances and results have fallen “below our shared expectations.”
“Given our prior successes under Brendan’s supervision, he continued, “We had been of the opinion that continuity and stability would be vital to changing our trajectory”.
“However, the anticipated improvement has not materialized, and with 10 games left in the season, the board is obligated to take alternative steps to safeguard our Premier League status”.
“The challenge we must complete in our final 10 games is obvious. In order to maintain our status as a Premier League club, we must now unite as a group, consisting of supporters, players, and staff.”
In his first two full seasons as the Foxes manager, Rodgers guided Leicester to back-to-back fifth-place finishes. He also defeated Chelsea to win the FA Cup title in 2021.
