Napoli won the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years after a 1-1 draw with Udinese setting off wild celebrations in their home city of Naples.
They last won the league in 1990 when a team led by Diego Maradona added to their first championship from three years prior.
After Sandi Lovric had given Udinese an unexpected lead in the 52nd minute, Victor Osimhen slammed home an equalizer for his 22 Serie A goal of the season.
With five games remaining, Napoli managed to maintain the point they required to win their third Serie A title.
The two championships won by Napoli previously happened in 1987 and 1990, during the reigns of Argentina superstar Diego Maradona.
Although they have won three Coppa Italia trophies in the last 11 seasons, the Scudetto is what Napoli supporters really wanted.
Napoli now become the third team to win the Serie A since 2020 with AC Milan, Inter Milan winning the last two seasons.
Juventus won the previous eight championships between 2012 and 2020.
