Juventus’ midfielder, Paul Pogba, expressed his determination on Sunday to make a strong comeback next season, giving his utmost despite facing challenging circumstances both on and off the field.
During his first competitive start in Serie A this campaign, the French 2018 World Cup champion unfortunately suffered a thigh injury, forcing him to leave the pitch in the first half.
This setback added to his previous injury, a right knee problem during pre-season training, which resulted in him missing a significant portion of games upon his return to Juventus from Manchester United.
In addition to his physical struggles, Pogba had to confront a distressing off-field ordeal involving a blackmail plot targeting one of his brothers, Mathias.
Reflecting on Instagram, Pogba shared:
“This year has been exceptionally challenging, dealing with both personal issues off the field and difficulties on the pitch.” He also admitted that it had been mentally taxing, and he sought solace in playing football, only to be hindered by numerous physical setbacks.
The 30-year-old, who was unable to participate in France’s journey to the World Cup final last year, expressed his patience and positive outlook, saying, “I must remain hopeful. Mentally, I have made significant progress.”
“I am fully committed, both mentally and physically, to making a triumphant return and contributing to the team’s pursuit of titles. That is why I came back to Juventus. I will not give up,” he affirmed.
