Jose Mourinho might set a record for the highest salary for a manager after it was claimed that he was offered over £100 to lead the Saudi Arabia national side.
The Portuguese is currently the coach of AS Roma and his current contract runs until 2024.
However, the manager could potentially leave Rome earlier if he decides to accept the offer to take charge of the Saudi Arabia national team.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 60-year-old manager would be paid €60million each year for two seasons, and could either terminate the contract at the end of the first year or chose to renew in the year 2026
Roma has not yet extended an offer to Mourinho because it is rumored that the team is considering all of their alternatives before making such a move.
He has reportedly wanted to meet with the club owners and wants clarification on his future during the current campaign, not at the conclusion of the season.
In order to keep his job, the manager has also requested that he be given the summer to acquire a striker, a midfielder, and a defender.
