Ahead of their UEFA Champions League game on Tuesday, Antonio Rudiger made a comparison between the current Chelsea team and the one he played for, which won the Champions League in 2021.
Rudiger who joined Real Madrid after the 2021/22 season, expressed his belief that the team he was part of under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel in the 2020/21 season was vastly different from the current Chelsea team.
Speaking to Marca, Rudiger stated that while the upcoming match against Chelsea would be tough, as they have many quality players, it was clear to him that the team he played for was not the same as the current one.
“The Current Chelsea team now is Nothing like the one I played for. A lot of things have changed. All I can say is the game will be very tough” Rudiger said
Rudiger’s comments were made just days before Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu.
