According to former Bayern Munich midfielder Dietmar Hamann, he believes that Thomas Tuchel might leave the club during the upcoming summer due to a potential mass exodus happening off the field.
Tuchel’s appointment as Bayern manager took place in March, following the departure of Julian Nagelsmann.
Under Tuchel’s guidance, the team achieved a remarkable Bundesliga victory on the thrilling final day of the season, snatching the title from Borussia Dortmund.
Unfortunately, this triumph has been overshadowed by the sudden dismissals of both Oliver Kahn, the CEO, and Hasan Salihamidzic, the sporting director, which occurred just a day before the title win.
Expressing his thoughts on the situation, Hamann believes that the disharmony within the club could prompt Tuchel to consider leaving, despite the manager previously stating his intention to stay.
Hamann shared his opinion on German TV, saying:
“When you treat people like this, you have to question whether you want to continue working for this club.
I don’t think we can exclude the possibility of Tuchel leaving in the near future. However, if he does depart, it will be his own decision.”
Tuchel himself addressed the off-pitch chaos during the celebrations following the title win. At an event held in Munich’s Marienplatz on Sunday, he called for “things to calm down” and emphasized the importance of him and his players being able to focus on football.
