Sevilla delivered a crushing blow to Manchester United’s Europa League campaign with a resounding 3-0 victory to secure a 5-2 aggregate result over two legs.
The Spanish team took an early lead after Harry Maguire’s error allowed Youssef En-Nesyri to score. United’s defense was unable to contain Sevilla, who added a second goal with a looping header from Loic Bade.
En-Nesyri then capitalized on another error, this time from goalkeeper David de Gea, to secure Sevilla’s win.
United’s performance was far from their best, and they were eliminated from the competition with a disappointing display.
This loss comes ahead of several crucial games for United, including an FA Cup semi-final against Brighton and a key Premier League match against Tottenham.
Erik Ten Hag’s team failed to pass this test, which could have been season-defining for United.
Sevilla, on the other hand, booked their spot in the two-legged semi-final against Juventus on 11 and 18 May.
Juventus advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Sporting 2-1 on aggregate in their quarter-final match.
