After recently suggesting the dollarization of Argentina’s economy, Sergio Aguero was referred to as the “son of a b*tch” by a journalist.
The former striker had proposed that Argentina’s economy should abandon the peso as its official currency and move to dollars.
He was forced to hang up his boots in 2021 owing to a cardiac issue.
He claimed that because the value of the peso is negligible outside of its borders, the nation is “screwed” and “needed dollars.”
As a result, Argentine journalist Pablo Duggan attacked the footballer, saying that he was speaking from a position of privilege and was disconnected from the country’s everyday reality.
“He (Aguero) is speaking from his position as a billionaire in dollars; he has never been paid in pesos, so it is not as though he has the money locally”.
He stated on Radio 10 that “dollarization is the best thing that can happen for him, and he could care less about the peso.”
Aguero was referred to by Duggan as a “son of a b*tch” who needs “a hit on the head” to make him talk sense.
Argentina’s economy is in shambles as a result of hyperinflation, which reached 104% in March.
Aguero was referred to as a “dangerous” character by Duggan, who also demanded that he take responsibility for his remarks.
