Arsenal has received a positive injury update from their head of medical services after Gabriel Martinelli’s injury against Brighton on Sunday.
Martinelli was pulled out after just 20 minutes of a match with the Seagulls, having evaded punishment for a careless challenge of his own during the early stages of the Premier League match with Brighton.
It was immediately feared that the 21-year-old winger might be out for a significant amount of time after Moises Caicedo’s vicious tackle caught him.
Following a uneventful 3-0 loss for the Gunners at Emirates Stadium, KushAFC contacted Arsenal doctor Gary O’Driscoll to inquire about Martinelli. O’Driscoll had this to say:
“He is hurt. terrible mistake. shameful error. Although he is a little sore, he should be OK”.
“He should return before the season is out, in my opinion”.
Regarding Oleksandr Zinchenko, O’Driscoll added:
“Not sure about him yet; we’ll see. Everyone is vying to return for the next game”.
William Saliba is another player who is still on the injury report as Arsenal prepares to play Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The France international defender has been a major loss for Mikel Arteta’s team amid a troubling run of lost points in the past few weeks.
