According to reports, Chelsea’s first team Players found out about Graham Potter’s dismissal as the club’s manager through a social media statement.
Potter’s 31-game tenure at Stamford Bridge came to an end on Sunday evening following a 2-0 defeat toA Villa which was seen as the final blow to his position.
During his time in charge, the 47-year-old only managed to secure 12 wins, resulting in an average Premier League points return of 1.27 per game, which is jointly the lowest of any coach to have overseen 20 or more top-flight matches at Chelsea.
Chelsea’s ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, reportedly felt they had no choice but to part ways with their second manager of the 2022-23 campaign, having already let go of Thomas Tuchel in September.
The fact that the club had invested over £600 million in new players made their bottom-half position on the table unacceptable.
It was reported that some of the Chelsea players found out about Potter’s dismissal via his social media handle, while some of them were asking who is going to be one to take charge of the team’s training session moving forward.
The club is now in a hunt for a new manager and Former Bayern Munich boss, Julian Nagelsmann is seen as the favorite for the position.
