Leicester City and Dean Smith are reportedly in discussions regarding his appointment as manager until the end of the current season.
Smith, who previously managed Norwich, Aston Villa, and Brentford, is believed to be in talks with the aim of helping Leicester avoid relegation rather than focusing on long-term plans.
If Smith is appointed, Craig Shakespeare is expected to return to the King Power Stadium as part of his backroom team.
Shakespeare was previously a member of Claudio Ranieri’s staff during Leicester’s triumphant Premier League campaign in 2016, and subsequently took over as manager.
Following their recent home defeat to Bournemouth, Leicester find themselves in a precarious position in the relegation zone.
