Christian Eriksen, who joined Manchester United in the summer, has disclosed that a conversation with manager Erik ten Hag played a significant role in his decision to join the Red Devils.
Eriksen explained that he was a free agent after his contract with Brentford expired, and while he was considering his options, he received a call from the United manager that helped him envision himself playing for the team.
“I was at Brentford until the end of my contract in the summer, and that allowed me to explore other opportunities.
Although I was open to returning to Brentford, I wanted to keep my options open and see if anything else would come up that could sway my decision.
Then, Manchester United expressed their interest, and after speaking with the manager on the phone, I could envision myself joining the team.
Fortunately, the move came to fruition, and it was a very special decision for me to come here,” Christian Eriksen explained during an interview with UTD Podcast”.
Despite initially being unsure about his destination, Eriksen was ultimately pleased with his decision to join United. In his 31 appearances for the team, Eriksen has scored two goals and provided nine assists, establishing himself as a key player for Ten Hag‘s side.
Although he suffered a serious ankle injury in January that kept him out of action for some time, he made a successful comeback in the recent 2-0 victory over Everton, much to the delight of his manager.
