Harry Maguire asserted that every time he had the chance to play for Manchester United this season, he had given his best and performed up to his potential.
Despite having limited opportunities due to Lisandro Martinez’s arrival from Ajax, the Manchester United captain has played in 12 Premier League games this season.
Maguire acknowledged the competition at the club for the centre-back position, but stated that he had put in the effort in training and on the field whenever he got an opportunity.
In the recent game against Everton, Maguire was in the starting lineup and helped the team secure a comfortable 2-0 victory with goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.
Maguire also mentioned that he was mentally and physically in a good place this year.
“I am in a good place mentally and physically. Everytime I get the opportunity to start, I believe I have done Justice to that” Maguire said.
The 30 year old will be vying for a start in Thursday’s Europa League game at home to Sevilla.
