In a game that ended with both sides down to ten men, Everton managed to salvage a draw against Tottenham in the Premier League thanks to a stunning long-range goal by Michael Keane in the 90th minute.
The defender surged forward and unleashed a 25-yard rocket into the top corner, rescuing a point for Sean Dyche’s men and lifting them out of the relegation zone.
Tottenham had taken the lead in the second half through Harry Kane’s penalty after Keane himself had fouled Cristian Romero in the area. The game had been rather dull until Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off for pushing Kane in the face off the ball, creating a flashpoint on 57 minutes.
Despite Kane’s goal appearing to give Cristian Stellini a winning start as interim manager in Tottenham’s first game since Antonio Conte’s departure, substitute Lucas Moura’s nasty challenge on Keane saw him also sent off.
However, Keane shrugged off the knock and unleashed his incredible strike, sending Goodison Park into pandemonium. The point lifts Everton to 15th place, three spots higher, while Tottenham move to fourth on goal difference, having played two more games than Manchester United in fifth.
