The shortlist for the Premier League Team of the Season for the 2022-23 campaign has been unveiled, raising several questions.
Leading the forward line are notable selections such as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka, Harry Kane, Gabriel Martinelli, and Ollie Watkins.
The midfield boasts an abundance of exceptional talent, with Martin Ødegaard and Kevin De Bruyne as the co-creative geniuses.
Bruno Guimarães, Palhinha, Alexis Mac Allister, and James Maddison also made the cut. The backline features recognized players among the forty best in England’s top flight, including Brentford’s Ben Mee among the illustrious company.
The outstanding performances of Aaron Ramsdale and Nick Pope, who moved to bigger clubs, were rightfully acknowledged. Bernd Leno’s inclusion in the shortlist reflects a player with much to offer who needed a fresh start.
