Leicester City has appointed Dean Smith as their boss until the end of the season, following his departure from Norwich earlier this season.
The 52-year-old has previously worked at Brentford and Aston Villa. Leicester currently find themselves in a difficult situation, as they sit in the relegation zone after suffering a home defeat by Bournemouth.
They are two points away from safety, with only eight games remaining. Despite the challenge, Smith believes it is achievable with the quality in the squad and the number of games remaining.
His first game as the new boss will be away to Manchester City on Saturday. Craig Shakespeare, who was part of Claudio Ranieri’s backroom team when Leicester won the Premier League title in 2016, will be returning to the King Power Stadium as Smith’s assistant manager.
Smith’s coaching line-up also includes former England captain John Terry, who worked with him at Aston Villa, as well as the club’s current first team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell.
