Bayern Munich‘s star goalkeeper and team captain, Manuel Neuer, has returned to first-team training for the first time since suffering a leg injury in a skiing accident in December 2022.
The 37-year-old was ruled out for the rest of the 2022/23 season after breaking his leg while skiing following his return from the 2022 World Cup.
Neuer took part in a light training session with the goalkeeping coach and rehabilitation expert. With Neuer’s return, decisions may need to be made on the club’s goalkeeping department, potentially resulting in the departure of Yann Sommer and Alexander Nubel.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s Coach Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that he sees Neuer as the number one for Bayern next season.
