According to Manchester United legend Roy Keane, despite Arsenal’s recent impressive form winning their last five Premier League games against Everton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Leeds United, they are unlikely to win the Premier League trophy this season.
Keane thinks that Arsenal may struggle to cope with the pressure of upcoming games and City will ultimately emerge as champions.
Keane acknowledged Arsenal’s strong position in the league and praised the team’s consistency, particularly among its younger players.
However, he still views City as the favorite to lift the trophy. Although Arsenal has done well so far, Keane believes that they have yet to prove they can perform under pressure in crucial games.
“Arsenal are in a great position, wouldn’t have thought that at the start of the season but they’ve been brilliant, a lot of the young players have been very consistent, they can just focus on the league,” he said on ‘The Overlap’.
“They’re definitely favourites for the title. I don’t think they’ll do it. I still have to fancy City but Arsenal have got themselves in a great position. You need a little bit of luck, injuries over the last few months, they’re in a great position and you have to admire them for that”.
Keane further noted that Arsenal faces tough games ahead, and their track record in high-pressure matches is questionable. Despite this, Arsenal will continue to battle for the title and will play against Liverpool next to maintain their position at the top of the league table.
