Borussia Dortmund missed the opportunity to join Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table after conceding a stoppage-time equalizer from Silas Katompa Mvumpa, resulting in a 3-3 draw against 10-man Stuttgart.
Sébastien Haller and Donyell Malen scored in the 26th and 33rd minute respectively to put Dortmund ahead, and Konstantinos Mavropanos’ dismissal just before half-time reduced Stuttgart to 10 men.
Tanguy Coulibaly and Josha Vagnoman scored in the 78th and 84th minute, respectively, to level the score before Gio Reyna put Dortmund ahead in stoppage time.
However, Silas scored his second goal to earn a point for Stuttgart. With six games left, Dortmund is now two points behind Bayern, who drew 1-1 against Hoffenheim without the suspended Sadio Mane, following his clash with teammate Leroy Sane.
Bayern took the lead with a goal from Benjamin Pavard in the 17th minute, but Andrej Kramaric’s free-kick in the 71st minute leveled the score for Hoffenheim.
Although Pavard thought he had secured victory with a close-range goal a minute later, it was ruled offside.
Bayern will host Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday. Bayern still remains two points above Dortmund on the table with six games left to play.
