During an Inter Milan training session, Andre Onana and Marcelo Brozovic got into a heated confrontation which resulted in Romelu Lukaku stepping in to separate them.
This clash occurred as Inter were preparing for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Benfica, with Inter holding a 2-0 advantage.
The incident happened during a rondo exercise when Onana made a late challenge on Brozovic, causing the midfielder to react angrily and kick a towel in Onana’s direction.
This then led to the pair squaring up, but Lukaku and other Inter teammates quickly intervened to break up the altercation.
Although these types of training ground spats are not uncommon, coaches will be hoping that the incident does not have any negative impact on their team’s preparation for the upcoming match.
Inter are in a strong position heading into the quarter-final contest, but Simone Inzaghi will be urging his players to remain focused and finish the job at San Siro on Wednesday.
