According to reports, a new UEFA advisory board is set to be formed with the aim of addressing various issues pertaining to the laws of the game, refereeing, and the football calendar.
The board will consist of prominent coaches and former players, and among those reportedly invited to join are Gareth Southgate, Jose Mourinho, Rio Ferdinand, and Zinedine Zidane.
Zvonimir Boban, a former Croatia and AC Milan star, has been appointed as chairman of the UEFA Football Board, which was approved by European football’s governing body earlier this week.
The board’s inaugural meeting is scheduled to take place on April 24, and it will cover topics such as VAR, competitions, player well-being, tactics, and youth development. Additionally, a women’s committee is said to be in the works.
The committee has already confirmed 20 members, including the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Capello, Javier Zanetti, Luis Figo, Philipp Lahm, Ronald Koeman, Michael Laudrup, Rafa Benitez, Roberto Martinez, Predrag Mijatovic, Jurgen Klinsmann, Rudi Voller, Petr Cech, Juan Mata, and Robbie Keane. Furthermore, Patrick Vieira and Didier Drogba have also received invitations to join.
