Thomas Partey’s injury will keep him out of the highly anticipated Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium this evening
Ahead of clash at the Emirates, it has been confirmed that the Gunners will be without the services of the 29 Year old midfielder due to a suspected muscular injury.
This comes as a major setback for Arsenal as they were hoping to field their strongest possible team against one of the strongest sides in the league. Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to replace Partey with Jorginho, who was signed in January.
Interestingly, Arteta had confirmed in his pre-City press conference that he was not facing any new injury concerns, which makes Partey’s absence even more unexpected. The Ghanaian international had been spotted taking part in training, which had raised hopes that he would be available for selection.
Meanwhile, Arsenal were also hoping that City’s star striker, Erling Haaland, would be unavailable for selection due to a suspected thigh problem that forced him to be taken off at half-time during their last match. However, Haaland has now been declared fit and is expected to feature in the squad for the game against Arsenal. Overall, it will be a challenging match for the Gunners, who will need to put up a strong performance to secure a positive result against the reigning champions
