Real Madrid is reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s Kai Havertz as a potential replacement for Karim Benzema, who is said to be considering a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club.
Madrid is discussing the possibility of signing Havertz as they prepare for Benzema’s decision on his future.
Havertz, who is turning 24 this month, scored seven goals last season and is seen as having a similar profile to Benzema but with a much younger age.
Chelsea are looking to sell players to reduce their squad size, but the final decision on Havertz’s future may depend on new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Real Madrid is reportedly considering other options for a successor to the Ballon d’Or winner, including Tottenham’s Richarlison, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
Havertz signed a contract with Chelsea until 2025 when he joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.
