Frank Lampard slipped to a third successcive defeat as Chelsea’s manager after he saw his side lose 2-1 at home to Brighton.
Chelsea took the lead through Conor Gallagher’s deflected strike, but Brighton fought back and secured a come-from-behind victory in the Premier League.
Teenage sensation Julio Enciso, who hails from Paraguay, scored an incredible winner from 35 yards out, burying the ball into the top corner.
The Seagulls’ European qualification hopes were kept alive thanks to Enciso’s heroics, as well as a goal from substitute Danny Welbeck, who had equalized earlier in the match. The win leaves Brighton in seventh place in the table, while Chelsea languish in eleventh.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth’s hopes of staying in the Premier League were given a huge boost with a stunning win against Tottenham, secured by Ango Ouattara’s injury-time goal.
The hosts took the lead in the first half through Son Heung Min, but Bournemouth’s Matias Vine, making his first top-flight start, earned a deserved equalizer for the visitors.
Dominic Solanke then put Bournemouth in front early in the second half, but Arnaut Danjuma, a former Cherries player, came off the bench to level the scores at 2-2 with just two minutes remaining.
In the dying moments of the game, Tottenham’s Richarlison missed a golden opportunity to score, before Ouattara’s late winner sealed the victory for Bournemouth.
In some other results, Fulham defeated Everton by 3-1, Cryustal Palace defeated Southampton by 2-0 and Wolves saw off Brentford by 2-0.
